About Copperfox

Copperfox is a British brand of model horses started in 2014 via a Kickstarter. The aim was to produce British breeds of model horses. They started with three moulds and have since expanded with three more moulds.

The models are produced in both plastic and resin. The plastic models are sold painted in limited runs, although blanks and seconds are occasionally also available. Resin models are sold blank for owners to paint. The resin models are also available in a smaller scale than the standard 1:9 scale range. Special run models have also been produced as prizes for events.

Copperfox stopped trading in 2018, the Shire and Shetland models were only ever available in resin and not plastic.

The Moulds

There are six different Copperfox moulds, all based on British breeds. The moulds are all 1:9 scale but were produced in resin in 1:32 scale as well

Welsh Cob
Exmoor
Connemara
Irish Sport Horse
Shire
Shetland

The Shire and Shetland models were never produced in plastic but were available in resin both in the larger and smaller scales. All other models were produced in plastic and resin. There were a variety of different colours available for each mould. The three original moulds (Welsh Cob, Exmoor and Connemara) were all released through the initial Kickstarter.

In the USA Copperfox models can also be purchased from 'ambassadors' who are dealers that stock the models.

They are also a common sight on the second hand market both at live shows and through sites such as eBay.
