Size Guide

This size guide should hopefully help you find the right size for your model horse.

Traditional

SizeGuide-Traditional.jpg picture by thedevilshoarRight - A size guide showing the three Traditional sizes of models

There are currently three sizes for Traditional Scale Tack pieces:

Small

Medium

Large

Medium is the default setting so if you are not sure what size to get or don't want a Pacific size then this is your best bet.

Small

Small is designed for ponies. This size should fit most Traditional scale ponies but it is just a universal guide, it is not mold pacific. If you are looking for a tack piece for a particular mold then please let us know when you order it.

Examples of 'small' models include:

Breyer Halflinger

Breyer Cefnoakpark Bouncer

Breyer Misty

Medium

Medium is the standard size for all tack pieces. This size is designed to fit light horses, however, it is here that we see the greatest variety in models, so this is probably the size in which you are better off letting us know if you want the tack piece for a pacific model.

Examples of 'medium' models:

Breyer Keltic Salinero

Breyer Lonsome Glory

Peter Stone Ideal Stock Horse

Large

Large is the size used for all Heavy Horses. This size is designed to fit either larger models, such as the Haggis resin, or heavy horses suck as the Othello mold. Again let us know if you are looking for a mold pacific tack piece.

Examples of 'large' models:

Breyer Othello

Haggis Resin

Breyer Roy

Other Options

You may notice that some tack pieces have other options other than the standard size. These are to help the tack pieces fit onto the more unusual models

Long Neck

For our martingales and reins we have added the 'long neck' option. This is suitable for molds such as the Ruffian mold which has a characteristic long neck.

Right - Breyer Ruffian a 'long necked' model that may require extra length in martingales

Large Head

This option is mainly for our Arabian halters. When it comes to Arab's some have quiet large heads such as the Peter Stone Arabian or Huckleberry Bay and some have quiet small heads such as Sham. The large option is for you standard sized Arabian such as Huck or a PSA

Small Head

The small head option is for those models that have dainty little heads and will therefore need smaller headcollars or halters but might still be a 'medium' size.

Left - 'Sahara' a Smaller Breyer that may need the small head option

Julip

Julip sizes are slightly different to other sizes in that we have put in the options for sets of molds. For example the HOYS and Cob set would fit adult HOYS horses and the Farm Cobs not just general sizes. This is simply because it is easier to do with Julip and Equorum models.

What if my model isn't there?

If your model isn't there just choose the size nearest to it, for example, if you wanted a bosal for a Pit Pony then choosing the Equorum Shetland would be the best size. Alternatively, let us now that you want the item to fit that horse and we will try to accommodate you as best we can.

Exact Fit Tack

If you want your tack to fit a specifc model then please get in touch. We can make tack to your own measurements or to fit any mold that we own. Please just let us know if this is a service you require.
