Chestnut Ridge Charity Customizing Contest
The aim of this contest is to raise money for charity but also allow people to show off their work, win a wonderful prize and most of all have fun
So how does it work?
Similar to other contests this is open to anyone. The artist will paint a model horse (supplied by themselves) and then send it to the contest organiser (Catriona Burt). They will all be photographed by her and then posted on a webpage. The voting will be open to the public and entries will be annonymous. Once voting is closed the winners will be announced.
Important Dates ~
Entries open September 17th 2011
Entries close December 17th 2011
Voting opens December 24th 2011
Voting closes January 24th 2011
Winner announced ~ January 25th 2011
Rules - Please read these carefully
1. Any entry that doesn't abide by these rules will be disqualified
2. Entries are open to anyone of any ability. You may enter any finish of horse, any scale and in any medium. You are allowed to alter the model in any way you wish.
3. ALL work must be your own.
4. Horses are not returned but are sold or gifted out in aid of charity
5. Entries must remane annonymous. For that reason the following rules must be adhered too:
- You CANNOT post pictures of the model anywhere else until after the winner has been announced
- You CANNOT tell anyone which of the horses is yours
- If you suspect a horse to be painted by a particular artist please do not discuss this fact. All names etc. will be announced after the show if finished so just be patient
6. Do not post anything derogatory about any of the other entries
7. Do not attempt to influence other peoples votes
8. You cannot vote for your own horse
9. There is one entry per person
The Prizes ~
First prize winner will be allowed to choose a model from the entries to keep.
Runner up will also be allowed to choose a model once the first place model has been chosen
What happens to the models?
The entered models will be sold via eBay charity listings. 100% of the money raised will be given to that charity. The only exception is the two prize models.
Any models that don't sell will be donated to raffles at UK live shows or similar. If you are running a live or photoshow and would like to apply to have a model as a prize that has not sold you are welcome too
The Charity ~
The members of Model Horse Love (a UK based model horse forum) have chosen the Alzheimer's Society as the charity we are going to support this year.
